Half Torsion Axels Empty Half Torsion Axels

    Post by 1ShadowRyder Wed Nov 18, 2009 11:34 am

Hello all. A local club has been considering purchasing a Tow-Pac kit to put on a 98 Ultra Classic for a member that was recently diagnosed with the early stages of MS. Out of curiosity, can anyone tell me what the specs are for the torsion axles? I was wondering what the pound rating for them was. For example: 425#, 550# etc.
    Thanks for any info.

Is that 250 lbs. each (500 lbs total) or 500 lbs each (1000 lbs total) ?

This Insta trike kit would use two (2) 500# axles.

Thanks for the reply. Am I correct to think that the ones used on a scooter MiniTrike would be (2) 250# axels?

    Thanks,

Yes the Mini Trike and some of the smaller Insta Trike bikes would use the 250# axles.

One thing to think of especially for an MS patient is how stiff the steering maybe for them. One way to make the steering easer is to lower the front or use a rake triple tree.
