I have heard this in the past, however, I have yet to have anyone tell me that they have received a ticket. The kits are patented as "safety devices" and since they are not driven wheels I have a hard time believing that anyone would classify them as automobiles. They are not even trikes. They are a motorcycle with a safety device attached.
The conversation NEVER comes up that a motorcycle with a side car is now a trike....
The conversation usually comes from "trike snobs" who feel it necessary to trash the conversion kits.
