From time to time I get comments about bolts that shear off or are simply gone. My advice is to check the tightness of the bolts OFTEN. If bolts are loosening on a regular basis you can put 'Lock-Tite' on them.
A loose bolt will allow the kit to move back and forth putting a great deal of stress on the bolts--causing them to shear. Basic maintainence will go a long way.

40 years of riding says that lock nuts and lock washers are nice; but red Loctite(tm) ALWAYS works.

I agree As a past Harley owner I used Red Loctite on most everything, except small screws That you might want to get out in the future (Blue for the small screws and and nuts)
